I have been flying in many areas, but have only reason to complain about one. The Santa Catalina Island seems to be either a research department or a garbage dump for the programmers (FS 2000 only). So many different textures pop up. Mostly, the island is excellent, and even some parts of the coastline has a very dramatic surfing. But the waters has several different textures, and the small airport there is placed high above the ground. I can't imagine that I should be the only one with that experience. Also at the Lindbergh Airport in San Diego there are some graphical problems. I wonder why the Seattle people have chosen to dump all their litter just outside the windows of Southern California?

I have also tried the Schweizer 2-32 Glider. It is fun to find thermal lift and then gain altitude by hard work. But one thing I sure miss is a variometer with audio output like in a real glider. It is vital that you can listen to the meter instead of just looking at it. I wonder why the programmers have failed to do this feature. It is convenient if you can locate upwinds and downwinds just by listening. It should be very easy to implement though, and would be a tremendous step forward.

With my hardware, specified above, the frames/sec has been 60-120 during flights between buildings in Chicago. Those rates are well above the limits for realistic flying. For that reason the default fps value is locked to 30. This can be unlocked with Options-Settings-Display-Hardware and upper left slider.
